MN speeding ticket
traffic attorney Minnesota Jul 21, 2026
Just figured I’d shoot this out before making a decision. I got pulled over today commuting to work. Cop said he read 79 and put me down for 74 on the ticket, it was a 60mph speed limit. I’m 18 and a dude so my insurance is an arm and a leg, yet I need to drive to survive. The ticket could easily be paid but I’m concerned about the insurance rate. The officer told me he couldn’t give me legal advice but said original speed would be seen at court. Is this something worth fighting, it’s the first time I’ve got a ticket while driving and am not sure on the correct path to take. How does speed affect tickets? Fight or pay? Does the listed speed on the ticket indicate the severity/price of ticket or is there a hidden number?Location: Rochester Minnesota area
