I always welcome discussion about any case. If I'm not the right "match" for your needs, I will be up-front and will point you in another direction. I want people to find the right lawyer for the right purpose, and I'm always willing to refer to others. But I'm also hopeful that our Firm is right for you & can get you the results you want. Feel free to call or email me with your questions - no matter what!. Our firm specializes in Business Law - both litigation and transactions. Personally, I handle commercial matters, civil cases, and criminal defense. I also do Mediation/Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ronan & Firestone is a great group of lawyers -- both professionally and personally, and I am more than excited to be the newest "partner" in the group. My personal aspirations include: 1) Making my clients satisfied with their representation; and 2) Maintaining the best possible service I can provide. I do not keep financial goals, as finances are only a fringe benefit of law practice for me. My passion lies in helping people and fighting for justice -- not in getting rich. But, of course, the occasional $1 Million verdict/settlement is always welcomed! Someday I hope to be a partner of Ronan, Firestone, Manolio-Deden. For now, I'm happy to enjoy life as a competent litigator and member/partner of the Firm.

Rob is an AV® Preeminent™ peer review-rated appellate and trial court litigator. Trained at two of the nation's preeminent law firms in New York City before relocating to Arizona in 2003, and thereafter elected shareholder at one the nation's largest law firms, Rob has helped clients large and small navigate business, constitutional and public law disputes for nearly two decades.. Mindful of his clients' desire to devote their resources to business growth rather than litigation, Rob makes it a priority to gain a precise understanding of the client’s objective and to formulate a strategy to achieve it as early as possible and within budget.. It seems like most cases that wind their way to trial are destined for appeal. He is recognized throughout the legal community for the potency of his appellate advocacy.. While Rob also thoroughly enjoys trial advocacy, he knows that clients are rarely enthusiastic about going to trial. He therefore places great emphasis on the deployment of forceful, dispositive pre-trial motions to bring the case to an end if it cannot sooner be settled.. Sometimes a case will wind its way to trial. When it does, Rob is ready. He co-chaired a two-week false advertising jury trial as recently as May 2010, resulting in victory. He co-chaired a three-and-a-half week jury trial of a distribution agreement dispute just months earlier, scoring a unanimous verdict for the client.. Rob is honored to have been endorsed by Practical Law Company both as an appellate advocate and business litigator based on its annual survey of in-house counsel.. Select accomplishments:. - Secured Arizona Supreme Court victory for mortgage lender, loan servicer and mortgage-backed securitization trustee in proceeding to resolve disputed questions of law pertaining to non-judicial foreclosures/trustees’ sales. Convinced trial court to stay enforcement of judgment without a supersedeas bond during appeals.. - Repelled Maricopa County Regional School District Superintendent’s petition for review and special action petition to Arizona Supreme Court, wherein superintendent sought to vacate trial court’s appointment of three-member panel to manage school district in the wake of her indictment.. - Co-chaired and prevailed in two-week bet-the-company trial in federal district court on behalf of multinational photo radar enforcement company after persuading district court to dismiss on summary judgment two-thirds of rival’s false advertising claims seeking tens of millions of dollars in purported damages.. - Co-chaired and prevailed in three-week jury retrial of wrongful termination claim in federal district court on behalf of electronics manufacturer after persuading Ninth Circuit to reverse seven-figure judgment in favor of former distributor based on trial court’s exclusion of probative evidence and other errors.. - Instrumental in securing eight-figure damages settlement for general contractor on construction design defect claims against Maricopa County arising out of public works project.

Zachary Mushkatel

Firm: Mushkatel, Robbins & Becker, P.L.L.C.
15429 N. 99th Avenue , Sun City , Arizona 85351
Practice Areas: Appellate , Civil , Corporate , Criminal Defense , Divorce, Domestic Violence, Elder , Energy , Estate , Estate Planning, Felonies, General Practice, Personal Injury, Probate , Real Estate , Trusts, Wills, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury, Personal Injury
Zachary Mushkatel discovered his affinity for the law by chance. As a political science major at the University of Arizona, he first aspired to become a professor. But an unexpected invitation to participate on a mock trial team at the university encouraged him to turn his competitive spirit and drive to help others into a legal career.. “The law is about representing the client’s best interest, being able to think on your feet, and being a master of language and persuasion,” he says. “It just felt like home to me.”. Mushkatel graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2004 and has gone on to build a thriving law firm representing clients in the Sun Cities, Northwest Valley and the Phoenix metro region.. Mushkatel brings a diverse array of legal expertise to his practice at Mushkatel, Robbins & Becker, PLLC. He started as a public defender before joining the law office of Henry Florence and Sherry Bell to work as a criminal defense attorney. In 2008, he joined forces with Mathis Becker to form Mushkatel and Becker. Throughout that period, he gained experience working in various practice areas, including personal injury, estate litigation, estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship work, probate, corporate litigation, real estate, and various civil matters. Mushkatel’s cross-disciplinary background provides for comprehensive counsel to clients to explore all possible legal avenues.. Today, Mushkatel assists individuals throughout the Valley in personal injury, estate and civil litigation matters. Providing exceptional client service and producing results are his top priorities.. “My job is to provide a lifeline to clients who feel stuck or helpless and to go to bat for them,” he says.. Several of Mushkatel’s personal injury cases have resolved in excess of one-million dollars. He is the recipient of the 2020 Top-Rated Lawyer Award from Avvo and has been named a “Top 40 Under 40” by The National Trial Lawyers and a Premier Attorney by The National Academy of Jurisprudence.. For Mushkatel, delivering maximum results does not mean sacrificing personal relationships. Success comes from taking the time to get to know each client’s individual needs and tailoring the legal approach to match his or her goals. Building those relationships results from creating an unpretentious yet professional environment that puts people at ease.. “Most law firms run like businesses,” says Mushkatel. “The problem is that a business’s interests may not always run in stride with a client’s best interests. Our clients are our Number One priority, and the way we show it is by sitting back and listening quite a bit.”. Community service is important to Mushkatel and every attorney in the firm. Each lawyer is required to work on at least two pro bono cases at all times. Mushkatel believes those services should be provided not for the accolades or to meet State Bar requirements, but simply because helping others is fundamental to the legal profession.. Mushkatel is licensed in the State of Arizona, the Federal District Court of Arizona and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is on the board and a faculty member for the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy, a program of the State Bar of Arizona’s Trial Practice Section. He is a past president and a member of the West Maricopa County Bar Association and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Sun Valley Lodge.. A former semi-professional baseball pitcher, Mushkatel has coached his son’s Little League team for several years. When he is not working, he enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
