LEGAL SERVICES FOR NON-ATTORNEYS. My law practice provides you with solutions extending beyond legal problems. The holistic approach that I employ places a primary focus on your unique life situation. We will examine the learned conditioning and behavioral roots that may have contributed to your current legal issues. This exploration will lead to greater self-understanding, heightened consciousness and a sense of inner peace that will last long after we have resolved your legal-related problems. Very often this holistic approach will produce creative solutions to your current issues that a traditional approach to law practice would have overlooked.. PROFESSIONAL AND LIFE COACHING FOR ATTORNEYS. Having been involved in legal practice for more than twenty years as an attorney, litigation manager, marketing professional, and placement director, I bring to our work together unique insight into the nature of law practice and the existential minefields that attorneys face.. While I do believe that law practice is an authentic “calling” for a certain percentage of people who become lawyers, I also believe that many attorneys chose their profession largely as a result of pervasive societal conditioning. If this has been the case, the individual eventually finds him or herself in undesirable life circumstances. My work with you will facilitate clarity in your life choices that has seemed elusive for so long.. If law practice is, in fact, a calling for you, I can serve as a professional coach to help your practice succeed. I can also provide you with professional business and marketing solutions to help you thrive.

As a family law attorney, my main concern is for the well-being of the family. My staff and I understand that the divorce process is a difficult period in people’s lives, and our goal is to help you find the best solution with as little stress as possible.. Whenever possible, we encourage Collaborative Law. Collaborative law is the practice of reaching divorce agreement without going to court. In collaborative law, both parties have attorneys who have agreed not to go to court but rather work together to find the best solutions for both parties and their children if applicable. In addition, there is a team composed of mental health professionals, who serve as communication coaches, a neutral financial specialist, and if necessary, a neutral child specialist. In some cases we also have neutral appraisers of business and real estate.. There may be a lot of questions and issues you have never had to deal with before. I will make sure we spend the time to address all of your issues and help find the answers that are right for you.. I am dedicated to helping you with your family law problems.. – Mike Lowy

I am not your traditional attorney who went to law school in his twenties with parental support. To the contrary, I went to law school for four years at night while working a full-time day-job (CSULB Lecturer) all the while raising four children. I relate very well with the average hard-working citizen who has limited financial resources to spend on legal services and carefully manage time and legal budgets in order to get the best results at an affordable cost. Allow my assoiciates and I to represent you in getting the outcome you desire.

Practice Areas: Criminal Defense , Personal Injury, Tax
My first experiences in property taxes began over 25 years ago when I joined the Los Angeles County Assessor's Office. While employed by the L. A. County Assessor, I prepared and presented the assessor's defense of property tax appeals, appraised real property, assisted in the professional education of new appraiser trainees, and developed taxpayer education materials. During February 1997 I joined the State Board of Equalization in Sacramento, where I helped to revise the statewide Assessors' Handbook, assisted in the drafting of new property tax regulations, and conducted compliance audits of California's county assessors. Concurrent with my employment at the Board, I enrolled in the evening division at the McGeorge School of Law. Graduating in 2002, I earned the degree Juris Doctor with Great Distinction, and successfully completed McGeorge's Tax Concentration. I was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 3, 2002. Until 2007, I held attorney positions in the Board's Legal Department and the office of the Honorable Claude Parrish, the Board's Vice Chairman. Both of those positions required me to apply and interpret a wide variety of tax laws involving individuals and businesses. From 2007 until present I have been in private practice. My practice is limited to state and local tax controversies.
