Location: San Francisco, Ca. I gave my two week notice in writing to my managers, and emailed the owner about when my final day would be. I asked the owner on my final day (7/17) if my final paycheck would be direct deposited into my account, or if I would have to come back the following day to pick up my paycheck. He told me he would calculate the tips, and deposit it into my account on 7/18. Today is 7/21, and I just received the paycheck through direct deposit. The pay stub PDF clearly says the "payday: July 21, 2026." I am aware of final paycheck laws for California (https://www.calaborlaw.com/final-paychecks-due/), but I've never actually had to report a company before. Do I call the labor board first, or do I email the owner to ask for three days of penalty pay? What phone number or organization should I call to report the late paycheck?
