Angie founded Taxsmith, LLC after having worked for several years in the tax industry. She originally grew up in a small, rural town in North Carolina were she learned the value of working hard to succeed in life. Angie's father has worked in the hog farm business for years and her mother has been a hospice nurse for over 30 years. Her first job was working for her uncle in their family dry cleaners after school and on the weekends. It was Angie's parents who taught her that having the drive and putting the hours into work creates successful goals. She prides her success in life in the support that her family has continuously provided throughout the years.. Angie graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she obtained her B.A. in Sociology and Psychology and minored in Gerontology. While at UNC she was a NCAA Cheerleader and member of the Alpha Kappa Delta National Honor Society. She attended Florida Coastal School of Law and is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.. Angie believes in treating people the way that she would be treated and that does not stop with how she treats her clients. She also promises to treat every client like family and always provide honest answers. Angie lives with her chocolate lab Miller Ann and silver lab Aria Skye who can frequently be found “working” at the office. Angie enjoys working out, spending time with friends and family, playing flag football and is a huge sports fan (football, basketball, golf, etc.), in particular the UNC Tarheels.

I am dedicated to assisting my clients with their legal needs in the area of Federal and State tax law resolution, litigation, and controversy. I have experience in IRS settlements, including negotiating offers-in-compromise, installment agreements, and lien releases. I also practice in other areas of tax and tax controversy, including advising clients on their compliance issues, whether it is payroll taxes or offshore accounts. Most tax cases don't need to go to court but if they must, you will want to make sure proper proceedures are followed with the IRS before it gets to court. If you are getting notices from the IRS, you should contact an attorney immediately because some of your rights are time-sensitive. If you owe the IRS money and you don't agree with the amount, you only have a certain amount of time to respond before your lose your right to take it to court without having to pay the tax first. There are similar rules and regulations with regards to collection proceedures.. I am highly involved with the Tax Section of the Florida Bar and have been a speaker at their Coninuing Legal Education events and I have been named as Fellow of the Tax Section for the 2017-2019 term.. My initial consultations are free because I want to learn about you and your legal issues and make the determination if you need an attorney or not. Please give Orlando Tax Law a call. Regardless of what your legal issues and goals are, we can help make the pieces fit for you!

Michael has been practicing in the Gainesville area since graduating from the University of Florida with a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in Taxation. His practice is focused on federal and state tax controversy as well as a wide variety of tax related issues such as estate tax planning and structuring charitable organizations. Michael earned his JD, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University in Virginia where he had the opportunity to represent clients in both a low income taxpayer clinic and a general civil practice clinic.. Michael was drawn to tax law because it is complex and requires intricate legal analysis while still being widely applicable to many different kinds of clients. Local small businesses and many individuals can benefit greatly from sophisticated legal representation that may generally only be considered necessary for the largest corporations or the wealthiest people. Getting to provide that kind of representation in a small local firm setting makes this job worthwhile and enjoyable.
