Greetings people of r/legaladvice i need help from anyone. long story short i won a lot of 3 products, two monitors and 1 headset on june 2nd of this year costing $244.86 (in this economy and my living expenses this is very much appreciated back!) . I have been back and forth with support and sometimes hadn't heard anything for weeks. the company is based in Texas and is an auction house that used the website hibid to host the bidding. Since then i have received no refund after requesting it over and over. i’ve been told 3 weeks ago that i would receive my refund around a week and did not receive it then. since then i’ve called and emailed and only got told they would “notify the financial team!” they didn’t. if anyone can help me, give me advice, or send out a “threatening“ email saying they will face legal action, anything at this point would help.

I made a purchase on Mercari of a vintage canister on 7/29/2026 with my credit card which arrived on 8/7/2026 completely shattered. I followed standard procedure on the website to report item arriving as broken by uploading photos of the broken item and the shipping label. Upon submitting I was sent to a screen stating I was automatically credited a refund and could dispose of the item. However, I was not refunded to my original form of paying (credit card) and was instead issued an expiring credit to use on the website. This was not to my satisfaction so I sent an email demanding a refund to my original form of payment and was told because an automated system handled this refund that there was nothing that could be done, despite the fact I did not ask to have the automated system make a decision and would have happily waited for a team member to review the case. In an example like this where the item in question is broke/ defective, is it legal under consumer law not to be offered a refund to my original form of payment? Location: Georgia/US

I bought a used car from a licensed dealer in Georgia for about $11,000. Before selling it, he told me he had the car shipped from another state, inspected it, and fixed anything that needed attention. The next day, when I filled the gas tank for the first time, I discovered a defect that made it impossible to refuel normally. The defect clearly existed when the car was sold.
