He later joined Lynn Luker & Associates, L.L.C. in 2003, representing business clients in the gaming industry and defending others against asbestos claims.. As a result of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Mr. Mason relocated to Houston, Texas where he practiced for over six years with the law firm Johnson DeLuca Kurisky & Gould, P.C., representing business clients in the automobile sales industry as well as banking institutions and small businesses in litigation. He is also an adjunct faculty member of the Tulane University Law School Trial Advocacy Program and has served on the faculty for the Tulane University Law School Winter Intercession Civil Litigation Pre-Trial Bootcamp.. Mr. Mason’s practice with Montgomery Barnett is a conglomerate of the wide range of areas in which he has gained invaluable legal experience in his nearly 14 years as a civil litigator. He counsels his business clients, large and small, on risk management and the avoidable pitfalls of running a business, in an attempt to save them the time and expense of litigation. However, when litigation ensues, he works tirelessly to help his clients navigate the sometimes rough terrain of legal proceedings.. Mr. Mason has always been active in his community, and throughout his life he has served in various leadership capacities. From being head drum major of the McDonogh #35 Senior High School Marching Band, to serving as President of the Sigma Lambda (Alumni) Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., to being National Advocate (chief legal advisor) of the Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. (a Fraternal Benefit Society of the Roman Catholic Church), Mr. Mason is a proven leader. Now, he spends the majority of his time leading his clients down the path to making sound, well-informed business decisions, before, during and after litigation.
