Location: Louisiana I lost my job in November of last year and filed unemployment. It took about a month for them to contact me about my case, during which they approved my unemployment. The total disbursement amount was $3300 over the course of 12-13 weeks. When that lapsed, I got a job a few weeks later. Last month, the office emailed me saying they overpaid me and I have to pay them back. I can admit, I didn't take it seriously enough but now I missed the appeal deadline and I have to start paying it back next month. I don't know what to do and I'm not sure I have any options because of the missed deadline. I uploaded all documents needed, including paystubs from that job and my previous job, my notice of separation, etc. I have os many other things going on and I just can't believe I dropped the ball on this. Any advice will be extremely helpful.

Location: Louisiana Hey Y’all,my wife was fired Thursday during maternity leave. We have been talking with 2 attorneys that are friends of the family about the details and both have recommended we retain an attorney specializing in Employment Law and both refered the same bulldog attorney. My real question here is after the fight, what is it for … is there a monetary benefit to potentially receive or is it just an empty fight to prove they were wrong. Did anyone win and get a settlement check? (Explain if possible) Is there a standard settlement payout (similar to a severance package)? The toughest part of this is that my wife has been challenged by extremely bad postpartum depression and her memory is not at its best so the details are blurry at moments. And y’all can imagine what being fired from your life’s passion of a job can do to someone who is struggling with depression. In the end I just want my wife back happy and healthy but this is adding to the challenge losing health insurance and to add her and the baby to mine will bring my take home down to where we can’t pay our rent and bills. Additional info, wife started with employer in the beginning and has helped build the business to what it is today and has not even received the compensation that was determined in the original and revised proforma with excuses that would blow your mind (ex.
