Devon is originally from Alaska, where he grew up working construction and commercial fishing for salmon. He attended law school at Syracuse University College of Law, where he was a member of the National Trial Team and a cadet with the university’s Air Force ROTC detachment. Following law school, he joined the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate, where his responsibilities included the prosecution and defense of felony and misdemeanor level courts-martial and the practice of contract, fiscal, and operational law with United States and NATO forces in Afghanistan. After separating from active duty, he joined the Air National Guard. Prior to joining Davis, Hatley, Haffeman & Tighe, he worked in private practice in New York, where he gained experience in civil litigation at the state and federal level.

Co., 189 P.3d 582 (Mont. 2008) (jury trial and appellate counsel on stacking of underinsured motorist coverage); Revelation Industries v. St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co., 206 P.3d 919 (Mont. 2009) (insurance coverage and duty to defend under commercial general liability policy for defective workmanship claims); and Peterson v. St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co., 239 P.3d 904 (Mont. 2010) (trial and appellate counsel for St. Paul alleging insurance bad faith and violation of Montana's Unfair Trade Practices Act). He is a member of the Yellowstone Area Bar Association and Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association.. Guy has been a director and officer for the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association, and president of the organization in 2008 and 2009.
