FOLLOWING THE SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS, I MADE THE DECISION TO JOIN THE MARINE CORPS. LITTLE DID I KNOW IT WOULD BE THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. I LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF HARD WORK, DEDICATION, HONOR, COURAGE AND COMMITMENT. MORE IMPORTANTLY, I LEARNED ALL ABOUT LOYALTY AND SERVICE TO OTHERS. THIS MENTALITY STUCK WITH ME EVEN AFTER MY EXIT FROM THE SERVICE. IT HAS BECOME MY CREEDO. I BECAME A LAWYER TO PROVIDE HOPE TO OTHERS, LEND A HAND DURING TOUGH TIMES, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, HAVE PEOPLE'S BACKS. EVERYONE AT SOME POINT IN THEIR LIFE FACES CHALLENGES. IT IS MY HOPE THAT I CAN IN SOME WAY PROVIDE HOPE AND A SERVICE THAT MAKES LIFE EASIER, OR HELP OTHERS SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.

My story is a love story—the love of the law. The entire process from the library to the courtroom has always held me fascinated. The dynamics, the drama, the place where the tire meets the pavement—where the rights of individuals and the dictates of government—interact. To paraphrase Johnny Cash—“I’ve done everything, man, I’ve done everything!” Judicial clerk, associate attorney, solo practice, contract defender, teacher, prosecutor, supervising attorney, published author, and mentor.
