Location: Oregon. My housemates and I rent from a private landlord. The longest standing roommate has been here for 5 years. We pay rent on time, we maintain the house, our landlord could do a lot worse than us considering we are a few blocks from a college campus, so we aren't sure why this is happening. I really need advice because this has become time-sensitive. There are four people on our lease. One roommate is moving out on August 3. My partner and I immediately started looking for a replacement because we obviously don't want anyone to get stuck covering an empty room. Told the applicant there is "tension" in the house before they even moved in.
