I handle a broad spectrum of personal injury claims including car and truck accidents, work related injuries, injuries from defective products, nursing home abuse, and medical malpractice. I do not represent any insurance companies or corporations. I like the challenge of fighting big companies for my clients. Having tried hundreds of cases, I am more than willing to take your case in front of a jury. I find that representing injured people is very rewarding. I receive thank you noted, Christmas cards, hugs, and even vegtables in the summer out of my clients gardens. It is my goal to make a diffence in the lives of my clients.. I use the latest technology to enhance your case including "day in a life" videos, accident reconstruction experts, power point presentationa, vocational experts, and economists to establish financial loss and life care experts when needed.. I am regularly hired by other lawyers to assist in complicated or high stakes lawsuits. I also handle class action litigation and litigation involving numerous claimants.. In addition to being to practice law in South Carolina, I licensed to practice in the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Michael Jeffcoat, the visionary behind The Jeffcoat Firm Injury Lawyers, commenced his legal career after earning a B.A. in Political Economy and Philosophy from Wofford College in 1994. Following this, he pursued a Juris Doctor degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in 1997. During law school, Jeffcoat honed his skills through participation in Moot Court and clerkships in U.S. Attorney's Offices in Columbia and Seattle, as well as the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.. Although he initially defended corporations in environmental regulatory matters at a prominent Columbia law firm, Jeffcoat's passion for advocating for the injured led him to establish his plaintiff's personal injury practice in 1999. What began as a solo venture has transformed into The Jeffcoat Firm, a distinguished law firm in Columbia, SC, that has recovered millions for clients.. Jeffcoat's transition from defending corporations to championing the rights of the injured reflects a commitment to justice. The firm's growth, marked by the addition of talented lawyers and a widening scope, speaks to The Jeffcoat Firm's unwavering dedication to clients and its impressive track record in securing favorable outcomes. Michael Jeffcoat's journey underscores not only his evolution as a plaintiff's lawyer but also the enduring pursuit of justice for those harmed by the negligence of others.

South Carolina lawyer Danny R. Smith focuses his practice primarily on assisting injured and disabled working men and women who are seeking Social Security Disability and workers’ compensation benefits.. In doing so, Smith brings 39 years of experience handling thousands of these claims. He has taken many of them to the hearing stage before administrative judges. It’s a process that’s oftentimes time-consuming and frustrating, but Smith says there’s nothing more personally fulfilling for him than a satisfactory final result.. “We can help somebody who’s waited two years for Social Security Disability after they’ve worked 20-30 years,” he says. “They are about to lose everything -- and suddenly you’ve given them the ability to make it. They are some of the most grateful people in the world you could ever represent. So that’s a very gratifying result.”. A native of Spartanburg County, Smith received a B.S. degree in business from the University of South Carolina in 1971 and then immediately enrolled in the university’s School of Law. After getting his law degree in 1974, he worked for a year in the Columbia office of the Veterans Administration before returning to Spartanburg, where he has practiced law ever since.. He established several law firms, concentrating his practice on plaintiff’s personal-injury work but with an ever-present Social Security Disability and workers’ comp practice as well. After he and his partners formed Harrison, White, Smith, Hayes & Coggins in 2000, Smith took the role of managing partner for 10 years. He focused his practice more narrowly on Social Security Disability and workers’ compensation law while also assisting on significant personal injury cases.. He considers his long legal career to be everything he ever wanted.. “When I was a kid, I wanted to be an attorney,” he says. “So to be able to do that has been the fulfillment of what my professional plans always were. You never know when you start a practice how you’re going to evolve and what the practice will be. But this has turned out to be the right niche for me.”

Firm: Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, PC
3023 Church St , Myrtle Beach , South Carolina 29577
Practice Areas: Social Security Benefits & Disability, Car Accidents
Dirk has focused his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, and worker's compensation cases since he graduated from law school in 1987. He has owned his own practice since 1991 and has expanded from his main office in Conway to locations in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Florence, North Charleston, Charleston, and Mt. Pleasant.. Dirk was born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1960. He grew up in Conway. His first job was at the age of 6 as a farmhand on his grandfather's tobacco farm in rural Horry County. At age 9, he purchased his first vehicle when his grandfather sold him a 1960 pickup truck for the amount Dirk earned that week, $28.00. Dirk credits hot humid summer days in the tobacco fields as his inspiration to excel in school and get a good education. He grew up in a house with his parents, Julius and Polly Derrick, and three sisters. His father was a high school teacher and football coach who had been co-captain of the 1957 South Carolina Gamecock football team and drafted by the New York Giants. Coach Derrick was very competitive and his children were raised to compete to win in anything they pursue. Everything was a competition including who could be the most productive in their summertime farming jobs, who could make the best grades in school, and who could win a particular athletic competition. This characteristic probably explains why all four children attended college and participated in college athletics.Dirk earned a football scholarship to Wofford College where he played for four years. After graduating, he coached college football at East Tennessee State University for one year where he met his wife, Michelle Garrity. They were married in 1985, the same year Dirk began law school at the University of South Carolina. He graduated in 1987 and began practicing in Horry County in 1988. Due to early success in the courtroom, Dirk worked his way into a partnership after just three years. In 1991, he left the partnership and established The Derrick Law Firm.. He and his wife, Michelle, have two sons, Dakota and Peyton.. Dirk is also very involved with his community. He is a founding member and elder of The Rock, Conway's Community Church which began in 2005 as a ministry for young people, people who have never gone to church, or people who have no interest in attending traditional churches. He is also involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has been so since he first attended an FCA Camp in Black Mountain, NC. He has been a member of the Horry County FCA Adult Chapter and has also served on the Coastal Area FCA Board in the past. Dirk also supports the Children's Mentoring Program of Horry County.. **Past results do not guarantee future results but you are guaranteed our best efforts. Reviews come from clients, our community, and other attorneys. Responsible Attorney: Dirk Derrick, 901 Main Street, Conway, SC 29526.**
