I grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Kempsville High School. I attended Old Dominion University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. From there I decided to stay at Old Dominion University and work on my Master's Degree in Urban Studies & Planning because I was interested in how government could make people's lives better through adaptive reuse and redevelopment.. Upon obtaining my Master's Degree in Urban Studies & Planning I went to work for the City of Williamsburg as a Zoning Officer and helped the city manage a huge growth in real estate development in the late 1990's.. I began representing real estate investors and developers as the economy grew in the mid-2000’s. When the real estate bubble burst I helped those same individuals stabilize their real estate portfolios. Since mid-2009 my firm has been at the vanguard of developing the law in Virginia on Loan Modifications and Foreclosure Defense.
