I have been a trial lawyer my entire career and the senior partner in Cogdill Nichols Rein Wartelle Andrews.  While the firm provides  a wide range of services and expertise, including estate planning, family law, boundary line matters and criminal law, my experience is unique, specific, and well honed.   This experience includes many jury trials, complex commercial litigation, complex dissolution matters, lengthy medical malpractice trials and resolution, as well as the every day automobile collision injury case.   I started practicing as a general practitioner and have handled a capital murder case and other criminal jury trials, as well as numerous labor related issues, both Union side and employer side.. Over the past several years, I have concentrated on litigation involving personal injuries, medical related issues, as well as complex commercial and labor litigation.. I enjoy in my time out of the office spending time with my family, fishing and traveling.

David is exclusively a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney who prosecutes cases around the State of Washington.  He is a partner in the firm Becker Franklin and Rovang. His physical office is in Port Orchard, but he meets clients where it is convenient for them.  Mr. Rovang has accepted cases in Kitsap, Pierce, King, Jefferson, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, and Snohomish Counties. He has represented clients from Canada, Spain, Japan and Australia.. David has been licensed to practice law in Washington since 1980.. David attended 2 years at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. David graduated from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1980. During his years of legal education he was accepted as a visiting scholar at the University of Washington and the University of Puget Sound.. David started the practice of law as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Grays Harbor County. The starting position in a County prosecutor’s office is at the District Court level. Within 6 months of his start, however, Mr. Rovang was assigned as a  felony trial attorney. He was also responsible for supervision of the District Court prosecutors.. During his career at the prosecutor’s office, David prosecuted every level of felony, including vicious domestic violent assaults, vehicular homicide and first-degree murder. His trial work was extensively covered in local news media. Additionally, Mr. Rovang shared duties as an adjunct professor at Grays Harbor community College teaching constitutional law.. In 1987 David  opened his own law firm in Port Orchard in 1989. For many years, David practiced in diverse area of the law including personal injury law, bankruptcy, real estate law, estate planning, family law, criminal defense and administrative law. The firm grew to a 5 attorney law firm. David’s practice continued to heavily emphasize trial work. He successfully presented cases of all kinds to many juries over the years, too many to count, but in the hundreds.. “My two favorite things in the practice of law are helping people through a difficult time and taking a case to a jury. The former is deeply gratifying and the latter is just plain fun.”. David grew up on a farm in Nebraska. He moved to the northwest after law school, drawn by the ocean (there are no oceans in Nebraska). David enjoys sailing, working with wood and digging razor claims.
