Official statutory text

The Director of Corrections is authorized to establish a state prison for the confinement of males under the custody of the Director of Corrections, to be known as the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi. The California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi shall be situated on such state land as is, as of the effective date of this article, the site of the Tehachapi Branch, California Institution for Men.
