Pending construction of the unit described in Section 11252, herein designated “New Hogan,” the department may acquire and operate as a unit of the project, separate and apart from any or all other units thereof, the existing Hogan Dam and Reservoir and appurtenant works, herein designated “Old Hogan,” located on the Calaveras River and owned by the City of Stockton, and may integrate the operation thereof with “New Hogan” when it is constructed.
