Official statutory text
(a) An examination or assessment pursuant to Section 5150 or 5151 may be conducted using telehealth. An examination or assessment provided pursuant to Section 5150 or 5151 shall be consistent with the county’s authority to designate facilities for evaluation and treatment, pursuant to Sections 5150 and 5404.
(b) For the purposes of this section and Section 5151, “telehealth” means the mode of delivering health care services and public health via information and communication technologies, as defined in Section 2290.5 of the Business and Professions Code.
