Standardized risk management policies, practices, and procedures; development and implementation; review, approval, and administration of risk management related programs; insurance or related services; self-insurance options.

Sec. 204.
The department shall develop and implement standardized risk management policies, practices, and procedures for all state agencies.
The department shall review and approve all risk management related programs of state agencies, including, but not limited to, worker's compensation, disability management, insurance, safety, loss control, claims handling, exposure analysis, accident investigation, and risk management information systems.
After consultation with affected state agencies, the department may administer selected risk management related programs as described in subsection (2).
The department shall review and approve all proposals for the acquisition of insurance or risk management related program services for state agencies and utilize self-insurance options if cost effective.
