§ 299-w. Federal assistance. The watershed district is designated as a\n"local organization" authorized to make application to the secretary of\nagriculture of the United States for financial assistance in installing\nand carrying out a district project under the provisions of said\n"Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act".\n The watershed district, as the local organization, is empowered, when\nauthorized by resolution adopted by the board of supervisors, to enter\ninto contracts or agreements with the secretary of agriculture for the\npurpose of contracting indebtedness with the federal government for any\nor all of the local share of the costs of such project, as provided for\nin the said "Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act" as amended,\nwhenever such borrowing appears necessary and desirable, subject to the\nprovisions of the local finance law.\n
