§ 27-0706. Closure requirements for certain landfills and recycling\n requirements for certain municipalities.\n 1. For the purpose of this section the term "landfill" shall have the\nsame meaning as such term is defined in subdivision twelve of section\n27-0901 of this article.\n 2. a. This section shall apply to all landfills that:\n (i) operated during nineteen hundred ninety-five;\n (ii) did not have a valid permit to operate pursuant to this article\nduring such year; and\n (iii) accepted for disposal an average of more than eight thousand\ntons per day of solid waste during such year.\n b. Notwithstanding any provision of law or order to the contrary, no\nlandfill covered by this section shall accept solid waste for disposal\nafter January first, two thousand two.\n
