§ 27-2611. Disposal ban.\n 1. Beginning April first, two thousand eleven, no manufacturer,\nretailer, or owner or operator of an electronic waste collection site,\nelectronic waste consolidation facility or electronic waste recycling\nfacility in the state shall dispose of electronic waste at a solid waste\nmanagement facility or hazardous waste management facility, or place\nelectronic waste for collection which is intended for disposal at a\nsolid waste management facility or hazardous waste management facility.\n 2. Beginning January first, two thousand twelve, no person except for\nan individual or household shall place or dispose of any electronic\nwaste in any solid waste management facility, or place electronic waste\nfor collection which is intended for disposal at a solid waste\nmanagement facility or hazardous waste management facility in this\nstate. Persons engaged in the collection of solid waste for delivery to\na solid waste management facility shall provide written information to\nusers of such facility on the proper methods for the recycling of\nelectronic waste.\n 3. Beginning January first, two thousand fifteen, no individual or\nhousehold shall place or dispose of any electronic waste in any solid\nwaste management facility, or place electronic waste for collection\nwhich is intended for disposal at a solid waste management facility or\nhazardous waste management facility in this state.\n 4. Beginning January first, two thousand twelve, an owner or operator\nof a solid waste management facility or hazardous waste management\nfacility shall educate users of such facility on the proper methods for\nthe management of electronic waste. Such education shall include:\n (a) providing written information to users of such facility on the\nproper methods for recycling of electronic waste; and\n (b) posting, in conspicuous locations at such facility, signs stating\nthat electronic waste may not be disposed of at the facility.\n
