§ 44. Application of article. The requirement in this article of\napproval of the office of general services or the commissioner of\ntransportation shall not apply to works of art, buildings, bridges,\narches, gates, fences or other structures or fixtures under the control\nof the department of mental hygiene or the health and mental hygiene\nfacilities improvement corporation. Action in such cases shall be taken\nand final approval given by the trustees of such corporation.\n
