§ 177. Use of tracks of other roads. Any railroad corporation in this\nstate, whose cars are run and operated by horses or other motive power,\nauthorized by this article, upon the surface of the street, excepting in\nthe county of New York, may, for the purpose of enabling it to connect\nwith and run and operate its cars between its tracks, and a depot or\ncar-house owned by it, run upon, intersect, and use, for not exceeding\nfive hundred feet, the tracks of any other railroad corporation, the\ncars of which are run and operated in like manner with the necessary\nconnections and switches for the proper working and accommodation of the\ncars upon such tracks, and in connection with such depot or car-house,\nupon paying therefor such compensation as it may agree upon with the\ncorporation owning the tracks to be so run upon, intersected, and used;\nand in case such corporations can not agree upon the amount of such\ncompensation, the same shall be ascertained and determined in the manner\nprescribed in the eminent domain procedure law.\n
