§ 283. Issuance of licenses and permits in certain towns. If, in any\ntown of the first class at the time of the enactment of this chapter,\nthere exists a building department, set up as an adjunct of the planning\nboard, all licenses or permits, whenever and in the manner required by\nany building zone ordinance, local law or building code, shall be issued\nby said department, and all fees therefor be collected as provided by\nthe requirements of the building zone ordinance, local law or building\ncode.\n
