Distinctive sickle cell disease awareness license plates

* § 404-y. Distinctive sickle cell disease awareness license plates.\n1. Any person residing in this state shall, upon request, be issued a\ndistinctive license plate in support of sickle cell disease awareness\nand research bearing the phrase "Sickle Cell Disease Awareness".\nApplication for said license plate shall be filed with the commissioner\nin such form and detail as the commissioner shall prescribe.\n 2. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued\nin the same manner as other number plates upon payment of the regular\nregistration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this article;\nprovided, however, that an additional annual service charge of\ntwenty-five dollars shall be charged for such plates.\n 3. Each twenty-five dollars received as the annual service charge\nunder this section shall be deposited to the credit of the "sickle cell\ndisease research and education fund" established pursuant to section\nninety-seven-pppp of the state finance law and shall be used for\nresearch and education programs undertaken pursuant to section\nninety-seven-pppp of the state finance law.\n * NB There are 6 § 404-y's\n
