Ohio Rev. Code § 109.745

June 27, 2012 House Bill 262 - 129th General Assembly (A) The attorney general shall provide training for peace officers in investigating and handling violations of section 2905.32 of the Revised Code. The training shall include all of the following: (1) Identifying violations of section 2905.32 of the Revised Code; (2) Methods used in identifying victims of violations of section 2905.32 of the Revised Code who are citizens of the United States or a foreign country, including preliminary interviewing techniques and appropriate questioning methods; (3) Methods for prosecuting persons who violate section 2905.32 of the Revised Code; (4) Methods of increasing effective collaboration with nongovernmental organizations and other social service organizations in the course of a criminal action regarding a violation of section 2905.32 of the Revised Code; (5) Methods for protecting the rights of victims of violations of section 2905.32 of the Revised Code, including the need to consider human rights and the special needs of women and children who are victims of violations of that section and to treat victims as victims rather than as criminals; (6) Methods for promoting the safety of victims of violations of section 2905.32 of the Revised Code, including the training of peace officers to quickly recognize victims of a violation of any of those sections who are citizens of the United States or citizens of a foreign country. (B) Any organization, person, or other governmental agency with an interest and expertise in trafficking in persons may submit information or materials to the attorney general regarding the development and presentation of the training required under this section. The attorney general, in developing the training required by this section, shall consider any information submitted pursuant to this division.
