§ 122.073. Promoting state of Ohio
Official statutory text
September 28, 2012 Senate Bill 314 (GA 129), House Bill 487 (GA 129) (A) The development services agency may do any of the following: (1) Disseminate information concerning the industrial, commercial, governmental, educational, cultural, recreational, agricultural, and other advantages and attractions of the state; (2) Provide technical assistance to public and private agencies in the preparation of promotional programs designed to attract business, industry, and tourists to the state; (3) Enter into cooperative or contractual agreements, through the director of development services, with any individual, organization, or business to create, administer, or otherwise be involved with Ohio tourism-related promotional programs. Compensation under such agreements shall be determined by the director and may include deferred compensation. This compensation is payable from the tourism fund created in section 122.072 of the Revised Code. Any excess revenue generated under such a cooperative or contractual agreement shall be remitted to the fund to be reinvested in ongoing tourism marketing initiatives as authorized by law. (B) Records related to tourism market research submitted to or generated by the office of TourismOhio, and any information taken for any purpose from such research, are not public records for the purposes of section 149.43 of the Revised Code. The agency may use, however, such tourism market research in a public report if the director determines that issuing and distributing the report would promote or market the state's travel and tourism industry or otherwise advance the purposes of this section. The Legislative Service Commission presents the text of this section as a composite of the section as amended by multiple acts of the General Assembly. This presentation recognizes the principle stated in R.C. 1.52(B) that amendments are to be harmonized if reasonably capable of simultaneous operation. Last updated October 21, 2025 at 10:44 AM
