§ 153.581. Contracts for construction definitions

September 29, 2011 House Bill 153 - 129th General Assembly As used in sections 153.581 and 153.591 of the Revised Code: (A) "Public works contract" means any contract awarded by a contracting authority for the construction, engineering, alteration, or repair of any public building, public highway, or other public work. (B) "Contracting authority" means the state, any township, county, municipal corporation, school board, or other governmental entity empowered to award a public works contract, and any construction manager at risk as defined in section 9.33 of the Revised Code or design-build firm as defined in section 153.65 of the Revised Code awarding a subcontract. (C) "Contractor" means any person, partnership, corporation, or association that has been awarded a public works contract.
