Ohio Rev. Code § 705.82

October 1, 1953 House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly The department of public service shall be under the supervision of a director who shall be appointed by the mayor. Such director shall be responsible for the care, management, construction, and improvement of: (A) All utilities owned or operated by the municipal corporation; (B) All public ways, grounds, cemeteries, buildings, sewers, and structures of every kind, except buildings and structures used in connection with the work to be performed under the direction of the director of public safety as provided by section 705.83 of the Revised Code; (C) The making and preserving of survey maps, plans, drawings, and estimates relating to the public work under the supervision of the department; (D) All matters in any way relative to or affecting the highways, footways, waterways, harbors, wharves, and docks within the municipal corporation. Such director shall exercise the powers formerly vested in the trustee of waterworks, park commissions, platting commissions, street commissions, city engineers, or other board of officers relating to the work committed to the care and management of the director of public service by this section.
