Application of act

Official statutory text

This act shall apply to any incorporated city or town which, by

resolution of the governing body, opts to come under and comply with

all its provisions and requirements. Once a municipality has

selected the Municipal Budget Act to govern its budget procedures,

the provisions of this act shall take precedence over any other

state laws applicable to municipal budgets, except as may be

provided otherwise in this act, and supersede any conflicting laws.

Any action of a municipal governing body to implement, rescind or

repeal the application of the Municipal Budget Act shall be

effective as of the beginning or end of a budget year pursuant to

this act.
