Contract or purchase void - Members of body liable

Official statutory text

Any contract or purchase made in violation of the first

preceding section shall be void, and no appropriation of public

funds shall be made to pay the amount of same; but the members of

the body voting for such contract or purchase shall be held

personally liable for the amount thereof.
