Disposal of untreated biomedical waste in

municipal solid waste landfills prohibited.

No person, firm, association, corporation or cooperative shall

dispose of untreated, potentially infectious medical waste in either

a municipal solid waste landfill or in any receptacle or system

designed to collect and transport solid waste to a municipal solid

waste landfill. This prohibition shall include all quantities of

untreated sharps but shall not apply to other untreated, potentially

infectious medical waste generated in quantities less than sixty

(60) pounds (27.2 kilograms) per month from one physical location.
