Rules and standards

A. The Board shall promulgate rules as may be necessary to
implement the provisions of this part pertaining to water supply
systems and the treatment and distribution of water to the public,
including but not limited to rules for:
1. The construction and extension of such systems;
2. Specifications and directions as to the source, manner of
storage, purification, treatment and distribution of water supplied
to the public;
3. Requirements for control tests, laboratory checks, operating
records and reports, including the submission of water samples for
testing or sample analyses as prescribed by the federal Safe
Drinking Water Act and this Code; and
4. Permitting requirements.
B. The Department of Environmental Quality shall recommend
standards to the public for individual water supplies.
C. Such rules may provide for the exemption, and conditions
therefor, of specified categories of water supply systems from any
of the requirements thereof, except for wastewater discharges, if
the public health will not thereby be endangered.
