A hazardous waste management program responsible for the
regulation and management of hazardous waste shall be maintained
within the Department. The hazardous waste management program shall
consist of a director, who shall be hired by the Executive Director,
and additional employees as the Executive Director deems are
necessary and duly qualified to carry out the provisions of the
Oklahoma Hazardous Waste Management Act. As a prerequisite for
employment as the director of the hazardous waste management
program, the applicant shall have expertise and at least two (2)
years' experience in waste management. The director and all
employees of the hazardous waste management program shall be subject
to the Merit System of Personnel Administration.
