The Chief Mine Inspector is hereby authorized to employ two (2)

attorneys as needed, within the total employee limit authorized, on

a full- or part-time basis, to advise the Chief Mine Inspector and

other agency personnel on legal matters and to appear for and

represent the Chief Mine Inspector in administrative hearings and

other legal actions and procedures. Provided it shall continue to

be the duty of the Attorney General to give his official opinion to

the Chief Mine Inspector and to prosecute and defend actions

therefore, if so requested.
