Oklahoma State Safety Oversight Program

A. There is hereby created the Oklahoma State Safety Oversight
Program. Oversight for the program shall be provided by the
Oklahoma Department of Transportation. The Department shall develop
and enforce the Oklahoma State Safety Oversight Program standards
for all private and public rail fixed-guideway public transportation
systems statewide that are not administered by the federal Railroad
Administration. The Department shall have the complete authority to
implement, enforce and oversee the Oklahoma State Safety Oversight
Program in accordance with requirements outlined in the 49 CFR,
Section 674, as amended.
B. The Department is hereby authorized to apply for, receive
and expend federal State Safety Oversight Program funds in strict
accordance with applicable state and federal law, rules and
regulations.
