§ 253.002. INVESTIGATION BY DEPARTMENT.

(a) If the department receives a report that an employee of a facility, other than a facility licensed under Chapter 252, committed reportable conduct, the department shall investigate the report to determine whether the employee has committed the reportable conduct.
(b) If the department receives a report that an employee of a facility licensed under Chapter 252 or of an individual employer committed reportable conduct, the department shall forward that report to the Department of Family and Protective Services for investigation.
