§ 142.003. HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FOR POLICE RESERVE FORCE.

Official statutory text

(a) The governing body of a municipality may provide hospital and medical assistance to a member of the police reserve force who sustains injury in the course of performing official duties in the same manner as provided by the governing body for a full-time police officer.

(b) A police reserve officer is eligible for death benefits as provided by Chapter 615, Government Code.

(c) This section does not authorize a member of a police reserve force to become eligible for participation in a pension fund created under state statute of which a regular officer may become a member by payroll deductions or otherwise.
