Duties of register of deeds.

Official statutory text

The county register of deeds shall:

(1) Accept for filing, electronically sign and assign a date of acceptance to vital records presented in his or her office under this chapter.

(3) Designate a chief deputy appointed under s. 59.43 (3) to perform the register of deeds’ duties under this section during the register of deeds’ absence, illness or disability.
