Finally... a peaceful and fair divorce for a low flat fee Divorce does not have to destroy your family emotionally or financially. Court has nothing to do with fairness and divorce lawyers can keep things going just to make more money. Divorce mediation saves money, time and stress. Why pay lawyer fees of $40,000 to $400,000 when you don't need to?. ---. I have a Masters in Special Education and taught severely emotionally disturbed children for many years. I came to the law with a bias in favor of doing what is in the best interest of the children and was saddened to see how our adversarial system rips up families with no thought of fairness or helping couples get along (instead of fighting) so the children can be protected. After 8 years of private practice I swore I would never take another adversarial case and have done nothing but mediation for the past 5 years. I have helped over 350 couples divorce without fighting and every one has made a deal after working with me. On average it takes between 4.5 - 7 hours to complete the whole thing. Cutting divorce lawyers out of the process saves a LOT of money, stress and ugliness.
