McElyea is a former Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for Lee County, Virginia and a former Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Monica has engaged in the practice of law for over 30 years. She and her husband lived in Breckenridge, Summit County, until they relocated to the Grand Junction area in December 2023.
