Thomas P. He is a native Floridian who was born in Miami, Florida. Mr. Schmitt was raised in Palm Beach County Florida where he attended local private schools. He obtained his B.A. in political science from Florida Atlantic University. He attended Exeter College, Oxford on an ESU/Rhodes Scholarship; and he received his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law, where he was a member of both the ABA and ATLA mock trial teams, President of the student division of ATLA, and State Champion of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers’ Statewide Mock Trial Competition, 1989.  Mr. Schmitt has dedicated his career to assisting the injured and has specialized as a personal injury trial attorney handling automobile, motorcycle, trucking, brain injury and wrongful death cases for his entire career. Mr Schmitt has obtained several million dollar and multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements throughout Florida and recently tried to jury verdict a motorcycle vs. tractor trailer trucking wrongful death case which resulted in a 15.2 Million Dollar Jury Verdict, the second largest motorcycle jury verdict of its kind in Florida ever! Mr. Schmitt is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, and the Central Florida Trial Lawyer’s Association. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Sourthern District of Florida, and all courts of the State of Florida. Mr. Schmitt is an accomplished pianist, a ballroom dancer, and an avid boater. Mr. Schmitt resides with his wife and 2 sons in Groveland and Hutchinson Island, Florida.
