Shane Bangerter grew up in the small western Kansas town of Leoti, working hours of farm and ranch labor between school activities and university attendance. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1987 from Oral Roberts University and a law degree in 1990 from the University of Kansas School of Law. He and his wife, Kirstin, have two children, Austin and Paige. Austin flies the F-16 for the USAF, and Paige graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2019 and is also an attorney at Bangerter Law.. In his free time, Shane enjoys ranch horse competitions, flying aerobatics, and training bird dogs.
