Jason received his B.S. in Political Science from the University of Montevallo and his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 1994. During law school he was an officer on the Trial Board and served as Director of the Negotiation Team Competitions. After graduation, he began his practice as an associate in a well established general practice firm in Birmingham where he concentrated on representing small businesses and estate planning and administration. His growing civil practice led him to form his own firm where he served as managing partner and provided oversight and guidance of the litigation of civil claims, including class action and mass tort claims. He was responsible for the day to day operations of the firm as well as implementing all litigation strategy. He resolved numerous complex legal matters through the process of negotiation and mediation. While managing the litigation practice, he continued to maintain a business practice.. Since joining Moses & Moses in 2012, his list of business clients has continued to grow. He represents numerous types of small to medium sized closely-held businesses including physicians, healthcare related companies, construction companies, online and local retailers, manufactures, software developers, restaurants and various types of service related industries. He serves as Secretary and General Counsel for multiple companies helping to provide the corporate governance and legal framework necessary to transact business. The focus of his practice covers formation of entities for start up businesses as well as providing general legal counsel services for existing companies, business succession planning and estate planning and asset protection planning for individuals.. He is admitted to practice in Alabama and the U.S. District Court for all Districts of Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama Bar Association’s Business Law Section, Elder Law Section, Real Property, Probate and Trust Section. He is also a member of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Business Law and Probate Sections and a member of the Shelby County Bar.. Jason is a lifelong resident of the Birmingham area, an active member of Dawson Baptist Church and resides in Vestavia Hills with his wife and three children. Jason is involved in Scouts and has served as a Cub Scout leader for many years. In his spare time Jason enjoys hunting, camping, playing guitar and any activities that involve his family.
