Mrs. Clarkson has been in private practice since 2010. She is passionate about fighting for the rights of the disabled and has successfully handled hundreds of Social Security Disability benefits cases all over the Southeast. Representing so many different clients who are struggling to navigate a complicated system while staying afloat financially has allowed her to encounter a wide variety of people and circumstances. This has allowed Abbey to deeply empathize with each client’s situation and helps her to work with them to formulate a plan that is best for them. She is incredibly fortunate to have two of her extremely smart, capable, and caring younger sisters (Amber and Allison) on her team as they help her provide the best possible service to clients.. While the bulk of Abbey’s practice focuses on Social Security Disability law, Abbey also represents individuals who have been victimized by the funeral industry. These types of cases include funeral home negligence, negligent embalming, funeral home fraud, cemetery mismanagement, improper burials, and other outrageous conduct. She also handles select civil rights cases involving police misconduct and education discrimination.. On the rare occasions that Abbey isn’t working or thinking about work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, eating good food, hanging out by a pool or other body of water, and going to concerts. Concert highlights include Aerosmith, Prince, James Brown, and Paul McCartney. She and her husband, Matt, happily live in the Crestwood neighborhood of Birmingham with their adorable Australian shepherd, Wilson.
