Gretchen focuses her law practice on representing individuals who have been injured in nursing homes and assisted living facilities due to negligence, abuse and medical malpractice.  She also represents individuals who have been seriously injured in car and trucking accidents, and individuals who have been seriously injured by medical malpractice.. Prior to co-founding Wagner Hughes, LLC, Gretchen was a partner at a well-respected mid-sized law firm in Atlanta where she defended medical malpractice, trucking accident, and premises liability cases involving personal injury for over eleven years.   Her invaluable experience defending medical providers, national retailers, hospitals, and working with large insurance companies allows her to represent injured clients with first-hand knowledge about how the other side evaluates, works-up and litigates complex cases involving personal injury.. Gretchen’s extensive background litigating medical cases is particularly invaluable to her representation of clients in medical negligence and nursing home abuse and neglect cases, where the medical issues and legal requirements can be complex, and where oftentimes the nursing home and medical records are voluminous and difficult for attorneys without medical background to navigate and understand.  This enables her to more effectively evaluate and litigate medical cases in pursuit of her client’s goals.. Gretchen graduated cum laude, with a B.B.A. in International Business, from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 1998.  She continued her education at the University of Georgia School of Law, where she earned a J.D. with honors in 2002.  She has been consecutively named by Georgia Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for the past four years, and was named to the Georgia Trend Legal Elite in 2009.  She has been an active member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, and served on the Foundation Board of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers from 2008 to 2011. Gretchen has lectured for the National Association of Women Business Owners, and enjoys lecturing on family law and personal injury topics.
