I was honored to defend the first death penalty case tried in Queens County.. I began by legal career in 1984 working for the Criminal Division of the Legal Aid Society, the largest public defender program in the country and the primary provider of indigent defense services in New York City.. In 1987, I went into private practice with the law firm of Renfroe & Quinn, where his tenure included high profile cases, such as the first capital case in Queens County, People v. Gordon.. Prior to the most recent moratorium on the death penalty in New York State, I convinced the jury to spare Mr. Gordon’s life by sentencing him to life in prison without parole instead of death. Subsequently, I've served as a lecturer and advocate against the Death Penalty.. In 2013, I founded Renfroe Driscoll & Foster, LLP to expand his practice so that the community could benefit from the skill and caring I provide to my criminal defense clients, to all areas of the law.
