Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Deanna graduated from the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with Honors and a minor in Criminology. Prior to law school, Deanna was among a select group of students chosen to participate in the James Weldon Johnson Summer Institute, where she became a fellow. She later received her law degree from the University of Miami - School of Law, receiving Honors in Litigation Skills -Trial Advocacy and earning the Dean's Merit Scholarship on six separate occasions..
