After growing up in Gretna, Katie’s academic career was filled with honors, starting with the University of Nebraska Honors Program. She studied English, biology, and psychology, graduating with honors. While at the University of Nebraska College of Law, Katie was a member of the Nebraska Law Review and the Order of the Coif national legal honor society. She was awarded the Burton Award for Legal Achievement for distinguished legal writing for her published work on the legal analysis of the rights of parents. Katie’s writing has been published in Nebraska Lawyer and Nebraska Law Review.. Katie graduated law school in 2008 with high distinction. She was a judicial clerk for the Justice William Connolly of the Nebraska Supreme Court before launching her career in private practice with a focus on serving families and businesses. In addition to her experience in divorce and family law, Katie has extensive expertise in estate and gift planning, probate and estates, and trust administration. She is also experienced in advising business clients on issues from operations to the division of business assets upon the dissolution of a business or relationship..
