Cara Putman graduated with honors from George Mason University School of Law and has been practicing since 2001. At BB&C, Cara concentrates on employment and business planning, non-profit law, and family law. She specializes in adoption cases and describes the process as “a ministry to help the defenseless.” Her passion for adoption and for finding permanent homes for children stems from her desire to help others. “Being able to assist people with their business goals or with the adoption process is very rewarding,” Cara says.. In addition to her J.D., Cara has an MBA from the Purdue University Krannert School of Management, where she is a continuing lecturer. Currently, Cara teaches employment law and business law to both graduate students and human resources students. She also has a history of working with non-profit organizations and assisting clients with the creation and maintenance of 501(c)(3)s.. Cara’s understanding of small businesses and non-profits allows her to connect with clients on a personal level. She helps them navigate the legal process and is able to explain complex concepts, like liability, as simple principles. Cara is also empathetic and collaborative, and is interested in finding the best possible outcome for her clients. One memorable Court of Appeals decision led to a six-figure settlement. “I’m not afraid of the courtroom, so if litigation is necessary, we’ll do it,” Cara says..
